Tip No 1:-

DO NOT STUDY TILL THE LAST MINUTE

Do no read till the last minute during exams
Students reading until last minute during exams

Almost all the students make this exam mistake of studying the answers till the last minute of the exam(sometimes even till the teacher snatches the book). This is not a good thing to do as it only builds up stress and you end up forgetting even the things that you remembered in the first place. This practice does more harm than good.So do not study till the very last minute and avoid this exam mistake as much as you can.

SOLUTION-

  1. Take deep breaths before the exam is going to start. This will help you to relax and concentrate.
  2.  Keep assuring yourself that you know it all and use positive affirmations such as-"I am confident","I am relaxed during exams", etc
  3. There are many good meditation music and concentration building videos on Youtube which will help you to study effectively.Do listen to them before your exams and you will notice magical results and you will avoid the worst exam mistake of stydying till last minute.
  4. LetsTute has also created many awesome concentration building videos to help you study and prepare before exams on LetsTute Youtube channel.Do check them out:-
Tip No 2:-

DON'T START WRITING PAPER WITHOUT READING QUESTION PAPER CORRECTLY

Students not reading question paper thoroughly
Students do not read question paper correctly
Many students make this exam mistake and it affects their marks in a very bad way.Not reading question paper properly will lead to silly mistakes.Sometimes due to not reading question paper correctly, students write more answers then asked, miss out on writing some answers and sometimes write a different answer for a different question. This is probably the worst exam mistake students make during their exams.
SOLUTION-
  1. Properly read your question paper twice and read all the main questions.
  2. Check how many answers are asked to be written in the question paper for each main question and assign time to each question accordingly.
  3. Ask the supervisor if you have any doubt regarding the question paper.
  4. Turn the paper and check if there are more questions on the next page and assign time to each question accordingly.
Tip No 3:-

DO NOT FORGET TO WRITE SKIPPED QUESTIONS

Skipped question circled with a pencil

Sometimes during exams, students leave questions in between to write later but that later never comes due to time constraints or in situations where students forget to write that skipped question. This causes the students to lose their valuable marks in exams.
SOLUTION-
  1. Circle the skipped question with a pencil during exams and do write that answer when you finish your entire paper.
  2. Keep the required amount of time that you need to write that answer in your mind and write the paper accordingly by maintaining a good amount of writing speed.

Tip No 4:-
DON'T GIVE UP
Do not give up during exams
Student giving up when they don't know certain answers

Many students give up when they don't know certain answers in their exams. This affects their entire paper and they even miss out on writing answers that they do know.
 SOLUTION-
  1. Do not lose hope.Firstly write all the answers that you do know.
  2. Do not leave any question unanswered.Every mark matters so try to write as much as you can.
  3. Even if you write 2 to 3 points, you will get some marks for it even if the answer is incomplete(At least it is better than getting nothing)
 Tip No 5:-
DO NOT SPEND A LOT OF TIME ON ONE QUESTION IN EXAMS

Do not spend a lot of time on one question
Student spending a lot of time on one question

Many students make this exam mistake and spend a lot of time on one question in two cases-

1)When they get stuck on that question and try to figure out a way to solve the question.

2)When they have complete knowledge of that answer and try to write it all irrespective of the marks it carries.

In both these cases, students face time issues and miss up writing some important questions ahead carrying more marks.

 SOLUTION-
  1. If you get stuck on a particular question, try to leave it as it is at that point and after solving all the questions, come back and solve that one.
  2. Analyse how much marks a question carries and write answer accordingly(Writing extra won't give you more marks)
 Tip No 6:-

DO NOT DISCUSS PAPER AFTER EXAMS

Do not discuss question paper during exams
Students discussing question paper during exams
This is perhaps the worst exam mistake a student makes during exams. If you discuss your paper and find out your answer is different from your friends answer, you will stress out unnecessarily which will affect your coming papers.
SOLUTION-
  1. No matter how good or bad your paper is, do not discuss your paper.
  2. You will not be able to change the results of that paper now, so there is no need to discuss the paper now.
  3. If you find that your friends are discussing the paper, ask them not to do so or else go away from them during that time.
 Here is a quick recap-
1)Do not read till the last minute
2)Don't start writing the paper without writing question paper correctly.
3)Do not forget to write skipped questions
4)Don't give up
5)Do not spend a lot of time on one question.
6)Do not discuss paper after exams.
That's it guys, if you follow these tips properly, you will definitely avoid these exam mistakes score more than 95%.
